Opening ceremonies day was one of the best days of my life. I got to see so many of my friends on the US team all
dressed up. I had the honor of meeting again) George Bush senior and the George W. Bush family. I made new friends and
traded pins with athletes from all over the world. Our archery team marched in the opening ceremonies and then left early
because we had to compete the next day. We got back to the Olympic Village in time to grab a quick snack, watch the Olympic
torch get lit on TV, and then watch the best fireworks display I have ever seen from the balcony of our building. It
was extremely hot and exhausting walking an estimated 4 miles total that night in our jackets but I made memories that I will
have to cherish the rest of my life. It was an honor to be a part of the US Team in the Opening Ceremonies of the Olympic
Games.
